History:

Mr. Williams has broad experience in the building industry from apprentice carpentry through 20 years of structural design, plan review and project management. He worked for several years with large structural firms in Los Angeles and Sacramento before joining Barrish Pelham & Associates, Inc. in 1990. After serving with the firm Ian went on to specialize in precast concrete design and construction engineering. In 2000 Ian accepted a position with the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) and spent four years reviewing major health care facilities for conformance with the California Building Code. Ian rejoined BPA in 2004 and serves as a Principal for educational and health care projects.

Experience:

Mr. Williams brings a wealth of experience from all sides of the construction industry. From structural design and plan-checking of new and remodeled facilities, to management and erection of building structures. His projects have varied in size and scope from light commercial structures to large acute care facilities. Mr. Williams has extensive experience in wood, concrete, steel and masonry structures. He recently obtained the first ever DSA approval for an unreinforced masonry building.
